It’s a New Year and like everyone else, I’m doing my part to start off organized! As a blogger, there is a lot of information that needs to be gathered and maintained both before and after doing a post. Today, I’ll be focusing on the after.
I’ve put together a Blog Post Tracking Sheet, primarily to fit my needs, but I hope that it fits some of yours, as well!
My goal in creating this tracking sheet is primarily to help me keep track of post URLs and where I share the post. There are so many link parties and so many group Pinterest boards that I can never remember exactly where I share (at least when it comes to Pinterest boards). Here’s a close-up of each section.
The first page (of two) starts with a place to include the Blog Title, URL, Date of Post, and a place for the Short Link (since sometimes you need to know that, and it’s easier to share on social media that way).
The second section of page one gives you a place to note the URLs of social media shares…this comes in handy when you are doing a sponsored campaign and have to report these items. It also helps if you ever want to follow-up on the particular analytics of a share. Additionally I left blank spots for different sharing locations that may change with each post–I typed a few in above for example.
The final section of page one is a place to list the Pinterest boards on which you share a particular post. This is the section that I need the most for my own organization and peace of mind! I’ve joined a lot more group boards recently and I want to make sure that I’m not missing or duplicating any boards.
Page two has two sections–one for listing the link parties you share a specific post on (and the date), and a final section for any various notes you might have.
You can download a PDF of the Blog Post Tracking Sheet right here…for free!
Play. Party. Pin. published a useful brainstorming sheet for your Editorial Calendar and Designed Decor has put together an entire blog planner that may also be useful. Are you making any efforts to get, and stay, more organized this year? What do you do that helps? Do you have any ideas for the rest of us?
And for the record, I know that the reference I made on the picture refers to two different songs. And no, I don’t know if I spelled “Jesse” the way it’s actually spelled in the song.
