Weddings By The Number

Weddings By The Number TITLE

Hello, everyone!  Super big news!  Simply Bridal and I have teamed up for a giveaway!  But more on that after the post (in other words, keep reading!)

Once again the week has been nothing less than crazy, so my early week post didn’t happen, and my Wedding Wednesday post is happening on Thursday…again.  What can I say?  My hubby and I are buying our first house and the loan application WIPED ME OUT for a few days!!!  I felt like I was doing a research paper just applying for Homeowners Insurance!  But I digress…

Today I wanted to just throw a few random facts out there that I found pretty interesting!  It’s all by the numbers…  One item I didn’t include below I still have to share: Priscilla Presley’s engagement ring was a 3.5 carat rock surrounded by a detachable row of smaller diamonds!  (Thank theKnot for that bit of trivia!)  You’d have to have small children carrying your hand around for you!

Don’t forget about the giveaway!

Now, the moment you’ve been waiting for!  Simply Bridal and I have teamed up to give one lucky bride the veil of their choice (from this line) just for reading and following along!

If you’re not familiar with Simply Bridal, they are a US Based Company that sells high-quality, designer gowns at a significantly lower price than you can find them elsewhere.  How do they do it?  By eliminating the middle man.  They believe in every bride having the dress they desire at an affordable price.  Click on over and check them out (but be sure to come back for the giveaway!).

Simply Bridal also has dresses for your leading ladies, jewelry, and a great selection of bridal veils at deeply discounted prices.  One lucky reader is even going to win one of these veils for free, just for entering!  Here’s the scoop:

To enter, login in the widget below, and follow the prompts.  You earn entries by leaving a comment on my blog (as specified below), following me and Simply Bridal on Twitter, liking my Facebook page, and for tweeting about the giveaway.  The giveaway ends next Wednesday at midnight (so early Thursday morning), so start entering!  (NOTE: You must be able to accept Fed-Ex deliveries in order to win…)

    • I know!!! My husband and I actually got married last year, but ours was well below average price wise! If I remember correctly, the average for a Manhattan wedding is around $73k. That’s enough to pay for my car 5 or 6 times!

  3. So excited to have stumbled across your blog. I am a fellow Atlanta peach deep in the process of planning my wedding. I’ve really struggled to find a well made veil that won’t bust the budget. These look exquisite! My favorite, hands down, is the two-tier 50″ raw edge veil. My dress has a lot going on, so I think a simple, but elegant, veil will be best. Plus, we’re getting married at JCT Kitchen, so I want something a little less formal. This would be perfect!

Awesome giveaway! Fingers crossed for the win!

  4. Hi brooke! I liked reading the wedding statistics numbers. I’m definitely the average age of the bride. But when I was younger I definitely thought I would be married around 23. I’m so glad I waited. I think it is a good thing that the numbers are showing more people are waiting to get married later in life then first thing out of high school or college. You don’t know who you really are yet at 21. I am such a different person at 28 than I was at 21.

4 drinks per person! wow! I guess I will definitely have a large tab at the end of the night to cover the excess drinks consumed hehe:)

    Thansk for this post :)
