Happy Friday! My 9-5 has been very busy this week–which is why my Wedding Wednesday post turned into a Wedding Friday post with nothing in between. But that’s okay because I have something exciting to tell you about before I get to the topic at hand. If you’re in the Atlanta Metro area, there is a super great opportunity tomorrow (2/16/13) for those of you planning a wedding, or if you just love all-things-wedding. It’s the much-anticipated Wedding Day Hooray!
Located at the Ambient Plus Studios and produced by Indie Craft Experience, you’ll find handcrafted items and local services to make your wedding the amazing day that you’ve always dreamed of! It’s $10 (cash) at the door from 11am to 6pm. Check out the Wedding Day Hooray Website for more specific details. Hope to see you there (yes, this married girl is totally going)!
And now on to the post…
Creative Seating Charts, Escort Cards & Table Numbers
Idea time! One of the biggest parts of your big day (like it or not) is the reception. If you’re having a full-service, sit-down dinner, then you’re faced with the task of seating arrangements. For some people this comes easy–and for others it’s a nightmare.
Stop. Breathe. Relax. Keep reading!
While I may not be able to help you decide who to seat next to your Great Aunt Gertrude, I can (hopefully) help you with some ideas for the Seating Charts, Escort Cards and Table Numbers. First, a few quick suggestions:
- Keep it Alphabetical. While you may be tempted to put everything in table number order when you’re listing your seating arrangements at the reception, stick to the A to Z. This will make it much easier (and faster) for your guests to find their seats and keep the party flowing.
- But Don’t Stick to the Numbers. Keep in mind that you don’t have to just use numbers when designating the correct tables for your guests. Name them instead. You can use names of places that mean something to you and your future spouse, or if you both love rock n’roll, try your favorite bands. Other ideas include food names, car names, colors, countries…the possibilities really are endless.
- Stay Calm. Obviously you don’t want to seat your cousin with her mother if every time they get together things get thrown…but if you have a group of people who generally get along, don’t sweat it. It’s YOUR big day, not theirs. That might sound selfish and harsh and inconsiderate of me, but you also don’t need to spoil the excitement by worrying too much about seating arrangements when all eyes really will be on you!
And now, onto the ideas!
