Happy Monday and Happy Holidays! My husband and I went Christmas shopping this weekend and had a really hard time with some people, so we ended up with gift cards. Before you assume it’s the easy way out I have to throw in there that I personally LOVE gift cards. If only I could remember to use them…
Even though gift cards are small and simple, I wanted to make sure that the “wrapping” was something special and memorable, so I used the gift card/business card holder tutorial that was featured on How About Orange back in August and I dressed them up a little. I had already made a bunch of these as business card holders, but decided to make some new ones with holiday cheer. To get the original instructions on how to make these, click above, or click here.

What you’ll need:
- Decorative Paper of your choosing
- Paper Cutter
- Ruler
- Embellishments
- Glue
- Stickers
- Other items to decorate your holders

Start by cutting your paper to size–for gift cards the best size is 9×9.

Fold according to the directions on How About Orange (linked above). Your final product should look something like this. Note that I used double-sided paper, so both the inside and the outside are decorative. If you only have one-sided paper, though, don’t worry–that’s what embellishments are for!

Decorate your gift card holder with tags, names, stickers, paper…whatever your heart desires! This one will have the recipient’s name on it once it’s done, as well as some other pretty things…there is a picture of all four that I completed at the bottom of the post.

Even if you do use double-sided paper, you can always add some extra “love” to the inside. I added the amount of the card, as well as a pretty little bird.

And these are the finished products! I wish that I had gotten some better pictures of the insides, but they all came out blurry. They’re really cute, though, and they were fun to make. If you’re giving out gift cards this year, it’s definitely something you should try!
What other simple, but snazzy gift card giving ideas do you have? Please feel free to share!

These are so CUTE!! I have 3 gift cards and will be making these to hold them. Thanks for sharing!!
I’m so glad you like them and can use the idea!
